Rainy Ruminations

Sound of rain is consoling to a mind that is always turbulent. No wonder they compare a mind to a storm. We never know when a meteor of thought will burst across the cavity of our small head. Our brains get squashed like a ball against the wall and yet they claim that humans use only 10% of their brains. Isn’t it strange that we have and yet don’t utilize the most essential part of our system – the brain!
In times of trouble, our mind wanders like a desolate ship against high tides. Not only does our mind get affected, but also our sleep. We roll in our beds beckoning sleep to dawn upon our eyes. And yet troubles make us suffer from ennui. Stress dominates and influences every part of our life.
Like flowers, we bloom and exude a fragrance – a pleasant one. But when the fragrance dies, we become a sorry sight. As dried flowers we wait for that one drop of rain to recover what we’ve lost.
Thinking about life is exhausting. What is even more exhausting is the fact of zealously going in search of words to voice our thoughts. Our thoughts flit around like fireflies. One minute they are there and next minute they are not. These thoughts attain permanent existence only when we pin them down with words. With words, thoughts don’t remain mere thoughts – but a reflection of a state of being.
What is my state of being? I wonder. The rain pitter patters on my window and yet I experience inexplicable warmth in these chilly times. It’s amazing how I don’t feel frigid at all!
