Everlasting Friendships

I often wonder whether friendships last and if they do what's the magic that makes relationships tick.
As time moves on,our lives take on a new mode. We take our lives more seriously as we consider different ways in which to earn our bread and butter. Some lucky souls get an early break in life while others constantly face an obstacle course of troubles. Troubles come in small and big sizes and so does the courage to endure it.
In life we meet a lot of people; some people whom we like and some who like us. Our likes might not be the same, but the wavelengths of our thoughts meet somewhere along the line. When we enter a pact of friendship,it's not a conscious decision. We make an unconscious move to a person who's so not like us,but whom we inevitably need to make this journey of life more tolerable and pleasant.I have met a lot of people in my life. At one point of time,I thought my friends were the most important. But now age and time has taught me that the ship of friendship does not always sail smoothly.
There have been thunderbolts, there have been cyclones, but still some of us cling to the last plank of trust hoping that things will turn around someday. Sadly,we learn to compromise with time and become imperturbable, for our tears are but the ebb and flow of the tides.
