howdy?

Today while I scanned the newspaper I read with interest a sideline in bold which said that a few bloggers were arrested and sent to court for crossing the borderline. I felt that it was unfair to be caught just because you express your personal opinions. I thought at least the net provided a vent for people's feelings but that doesn't seem the case of late.

There have been quite a few cases where even students are nabbed for writing things about teachers. Such incidents are understandable. I know correcting children on what they should write especially when the entire world is hooked on to the web is one way of cautiously dealing with the adolescent mind. But what strikes me is why people can not express what they feel without being threatened.

The blog system was created online so that people could record their thoughts and emotions. Space is given for the writer to word his thoughts and reach his private audience in doing so. But when I see how freedom to express one's self is snatched from under the nose, I feel what is the need for this false get up of saying create and share ideas. When we write on the blog half the time we don't think. We write what we please considering the blog space another part of our selves.

But there are a few things we should keep in mind while blogging.
1. To keep the feelings of others in mind- Be considerate while you make remarks. See to it that the writing is not spiteful of any race or religion.
2. Share your thoughts freely but know where to draw the line as we don't know how others view our thoughts.
3. See your self in others shoes and see whether it is justified for you to make such open comments.
4. Lastly, respect the freedom you get while you express. Do not misuse it.

Write with a purpose. Limits exist in order to push people back to the main lane. It's ok to be side tracked once in a while. Be sensitive to the needs and wants of your audience and don't forget the number of children who get online for e-mail and all other school purposes. We as responsible adults should set examples for the younger ones so that in future we needn't be worried about self-expression becoming a weapon for our personal destruction. Like they say:
The Pen is stronger than the sword!

It surely is and I won't disagree with the fact except caution you to use your words with tender loving care (TLC)!
